The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it really is alarmed regarding the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The provider point developed for intervention ordeals a high influx of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to permit the servicing of all shoppers and increase entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
